About Us
Sierra MMUG provides a forum for anyone interested in new media and technology to learn, mentor, teach, increase skills, job exchange and network. We meet the first Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise announced.
Our members come from all over; from Auburn, Grass Valley, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, to Sacramento and Folsom. So, as you can see, it doesn't matter where you live, if you have a desire to learn more then you know, share what you know and know people with like-minds, then we certainly want to know you!
Gordon Clarke started the group in late summer of 2001. The local interest in Flash and multimedia products prompted him to establish a MMUG group to help satisfy the needs on the local level. Rob Huddleston took over as user group manager in late 2005. Gordon remains active in the group as its membership coordinator.
The acquision of Macromedia by Adobe in December, 2005 allowed the group to broaden its scope. Adobe User Groups are found all over the world.
Our meetings are casual, informational and always fun. We come with our questions and many with answers. We have prizes for this and that and often food and refreshments. It's a nice escape for many who come from work or home and need an outlet to expand their personal and professional interest in web design and development.
Our guest speakers are superb, teaching us on all levels, from beginning to expert. Informative on either techniques or products. We give our local business speakers the exposure they need, while giving our members the answers they need. It's a win-win for everyone.
So, please come join us, bring a friend, pad and pencil. You're sure to learn and have a lot of fun.
